Getting there and how long you stay
- Flights: Kaunas Airport's schedule shows direct Ryanair flights to London Stansted and Bristol. Check current timetables, as routes change by season.

- Rehabilitation: outpatient physiotherapy in Kaunas, or an inpatient stay at a spa resort, priced per day.
- Regulator: private clinics are licensed by the State Health Care Accreditation Agency under Lithuania's Ministry of Health.

What applies whichever country you choose
- The NHS S2 route covers public providers only, so a private clinic in Lithuania or Poland is self-funded.
- The "get your surgery for free" refund some clinics advertise relies on the EU cross-border directive. It applies to patients insured in an EU country, not to UK residents: the NHS says the EU Directive route has ended in the UK.
- A GHIC or EHIC does not cover planned treatment or private clinics.
- The NHS is not liable for negligence or failure of treatment abroad, and most travel insurance excludes planned treatment.
